Love my new camera and zoom lens, but it certainly isn't a professional grade set up, and doesn't capture low light situations hardly at all. So, no photos of actual races as we move into autumn and start losing sunlight sooner - but still, some good stuff. Had a good time, even though K & D is 0 for 2 at this track. Two DNF's - bummer deal. But, still better than sitting at home and watching TV. Thanks for inviting us, Scott.

As always, we had a wonderful time at The Duck chasing the checkered flag.   On a more somber note, keeping the Dearing family in our thoughts.  "If there be any truer measure of a man than by what he does, it must be by what he gives." Racing at Duck River 2013-06-08

Finally, no rain! As always, wonderful experience at the Duck River Raceway! We dug up all the cameras (I hope to never mover 2200 miles again... will we ever find everything?!?), so hopefully we will get some videos posted by next race day. Son on the camcorder, me with my DSLR, and the GoPro mounted to the No. 20 car. Got some good stuff... now just need to find time to edit and post them.

Good to see all the kids out - and under control and not being a safety issue.  The next generation of drivers are already in the pits!

Race Results from April 13th

Missed racing last weekend.  Wish we could be at the track more; alas, while we'd like to run our lives around racing, that's not possible at the moment.  Still, it is the best thing since sliced bread when we can do it!

Apparently some of the earlier races did not really count points, so we don't have as many as we thought we did.  Still, the standings as of today still has us running with the pack.  They won't be running our class this weekend, though.  I imagine they are going to eventually cut our class since there aren't enough of us each week to make us profitable.  That would be truly sad as the track and facilities are looking awesome, and we are really enjoying running there.

BTW, you sharp looking modifieds... we might be chasing after you, next season... got something brewing in the garage...

Duck River Rocks!

Had a wonderful time at Duck River today for open practice. Prices were more than reasonable, facilities are looking wonderful (they've been working hard all winter and it shows!), and the staff and other drivers were awesome. My husband and I both spent several years in The South before we met, and after a few decades, we are finally back home to stay. Loving that Red Dirt!

Here are some photos. It will take me a while to post them. Also, I'm not that great with the action shots yet, so even though I took several hundred pictures, not all of them are actually ready for Prime Time.
